Perspective/Reflective is the natural response to Reflective/Perspective, a multi-artist event which took place at the German Film Museum in 2015, presented by Leo Kuelbs
Collection. Reflective/Perspective dealt with how changes in perspective can alter meaning. Perspective/Reflective illuminates the same issues by considering several similar works, but from a different vantage point in time. Indeed, questions of how time, life events, as well as space/site (museum vs. public art setting), and changes in format impact meaning and experience are all valid.
Since 2015, many unexpected and exceptional events have occurred. None of them were foreseen when Reflective/Perspective was conceived, created and presented. Perspective/Reflective allows the reoccurring works a chance to breathe again in a new setting, thus enriching the lives of the objects; and allowing a response to time’s relentless creation of infinite narratives. Many of the original works will be evolved for this new setting, on the Manhattan Bridge and elsewhere, while other artists and works will be added to create greater depth and further articulate the concept.
Participating Artists: Eszter Szabo, Jesse Fleming, Philipp Geist, Richard Jochum, Robert Seidel, Tracey Snelling & Arthur Debert, Yuki Ideguchi & Suguru Ikeda
