Trauma has an ability to mark itself so deeply into being that it transcends the general rules of time. If there really are ghosts, they are beings trapped in these time anomalies created through tragedy, or well-worn repetitions, that, while not nearly as dramatic as trauma, wear ruts through time.
“Haunted” is a place where murder-sites are tagged in vain remembrance, and animated portraits speak and interact with us blankly. Time shifts, and nature is askew: recognizable in it elemental simplicity, but ominous when altered. It is the portal through which we all must enter in hopes of safe passage into the next state of being.
